Distinguished Participation for the Syrian Companies in Gulfood 2012
Within the framework of continued work to support the Syrian exports and explore new promising markets for Syrian exports, the Syrian Exporters Federation has supported the Syrian participation in the Gulfood 2012 , the region's largest and most important food industry exhibition, held from 19 – 22 February 2012 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Federation and the Export Development & Promotion Agency (EDPA) covered a part of the Syrian companies’ participation costs in the exhibition. The Syrian participation has included /18/ pioneer Syrian companies.
Gulfood is strictly a trade-only event and is open to business and trade visitors from within the industry. The exhibition brought together 3,800 exhibitors and 65,000 trade visitors from 152 countries for the four day show. More than 83 countries and a record 107 international pavilions have already met and discussed business trade developments.
Established in 2009 by Law no. 27, the Syrian Exporters Federation is a body that represents exporters and supports their issues locally and internationally. It aims at defending their interests, regulating export work and developing and promoting exports. SEF has recently signed a contract with the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), in addition, SEF has set in its future plans to open several branches in other Syrian governorates and allocate a budget aiming to support exporters to enter new international markets .
